The monthly KSW show arrives at our door on Saturday evening. Gorzów Wielkopolski will host KSW 104, a city in western Poland hosting its second show in two years. The Arena Gorzów will see ten bouts contested under KSW mixed martial arts rules, including one for an international KSW interim championship.
The interim KSW Middleweight Championship is on the line in the evening’s main event. Piotr Kuberski (15-1) has been a revelation since joining the promotion, picking up a hat trick of knockout wins in the process. QBear is a former FEN champion on a twelve-fight win streak. There aren’t many fighters as exciting as this 36-year-old Pole. The Ankos MMA man is a blistering striker with championship acumen, incredible knockout threat and is dangerous from the first second to the last. Tomasz Romanowski (18-10) is a man with the heart of a lion and the unbreakable will of a thousand men. The 36-year-old began his martial arts journey as a grappler before falling in love with the striking arts. It was off to the races from there. Tommy won KSW’s version of The Ultimate Fighter, Tylko Jeden, or Only One in English. The Pole is a mean, blood and thunder boxer who is ready to go to war. Seven wins have come via knockout, with another ten via decision where he brings opponents to hell and back. He’s won thirteen of his last seventeen, showing he belongs at the top of this division. There will be blood and violence in this one.
Tymoteusz Łopaczyk (12-3) is a former Babilon MMA champion who had a great KSW debut decision win against the electric Brian Hooi. The 29-year-old trains out of the Nemesis fight team in Warsaw alongside the likes of Damian Janikowski, Albert Odzimkowski and Marian Ziółkowski. The calibre of strike training in that gym is of the highest quality, with Krzysztof Gutowski keeping an eye over the proceedings. The Pole has won his last four bouts, and is most known for his exciting kickboxing game. He’s got vicious knees and elbows to go along with explosives in his hands. In the wrestling game, he’s got a good back take and always goes for the rear naked choke. Oskar Szczepaniak (7-1) is developing into quite the fighter and has four promotional wins in-a-row, which is the tied most in the division currently. The Szczecin man had an illustrious amateur career with nearly twenty fights under his belt, and has had a stellar start to life as a pro. The Berserker usually displays his kickboxing, showing a toughness and danger on the offence. He’s shown some good grappling as well, and comes from the best Jiu Jitsu clubs in the country.
Royalty will be present in Gorzów Wkp. Ewelina Woźniak (8-3) is looking to get back into the win column following a loss to Maria Silva last July, her second defeat to the Brazilian. “The Mad Queen” has been one of Poland’s top operators in the women’s ranks, facing a who’s who of the country’s top talent. The 31-year-old trains out of Ankos MMA and has a good Muay Thai style where she’s particularly vicious in the clinch, and marries it up with a great submission game. She’s got a dangerous triangle choke in her locker. Sofiia Bagishvili (11-7) steps in on short notice following Marina Monteiro and Naizi Cantanhede falling out at various stages. The Georgian only needs a mouthpiece and a passport to be happy, and she has jumped into fights in the likes of UAE Warriors, Oktagon and GFC in recent times. The 26-year-old is a wicked submission player and a specialist in arm locks. Her armbar catches many off guard and matches it with competitive striking. Tough task ahead though.
Maciej Różański (15-5) is a fireman by trade and one of Europe’s best light heavyweights as a hobby. This Bellator and ACB veteran is a former EFM champion and an absolute whizz of a submission player. Coming from the Berserker gym, he has trained with the likes of Tomasz Narkun and Michał Materla for years, pure championship quality. The 35-year-old is a very competent striker on the feet, however his nine submission wins are the highlight of his career. It’s his arm attacks that are most lethal, particularly his head and arm choke, putting opponents out like he does fires. Bartosz Leśko (14-5-2) comes in off the back of a decision win over the controversial Dominik Humburger last September. The 28-year-old is a FEN and ACB veteran who loves to get in a scrap and put on a show. The 28-year-old is a very tricky submission player, uses his wrestling really well to get things down, and he’s one of the masters of getting to the back and finishing the rear naked choke. Don’t sleep on his power, however he prefers to be dominating in the grappling exchanges.
The next fight is an absolute doozy. Roman Szymański (17-9) is pound-for-pound one of the most exciting fighters in the promotion. The former title challenger is looking to halt a three-fight skid and get back to his best. The 31-year-old is a very competent wrestler who can dominate on the cage or on the mat. The Pole is an active striker who throws with volume and keeps you on your toes. He’ll need to push his pressure game here. Maciej Kazieczko (9-4) is another humdinger of a competitor who throws himself into the toughest encounters available. The Ankos MMA man likes to cause damage in striking exchanges. The 31-year-old usually leaves some blood in the cage, either his own or his opponent’s, and he’s finished six bouts by knockout. Both lads are action fighters who put on a pace, have no fear and will get fans on their feet.
Krzysztof Głowacki (1-1) returns after his first MMA defeat last September. The 38-year-old is a former WBO Cruiserweight boxing champion and had a record of 32-4 in the big gloves. The Pole earned the knockout of the year in his MMA debut at Colosseum 2, sparking his opponent out cold from the floor whilst on his back. His grappling hasn’t evolved too much so far, so we can expect punches to prevail here. Jordan Nandor (1-0) will come in at late notice after Adam Tomasik fell out. The Frenchman won his MMA debut with an Americana last July. He was also known as a heavy hitter on the amateur scene.
Sergiusz Zając (7-1) is a vicious, vicious man. The 26-year-old opened his KSW account with a knockout win in August. The Pole has elbows and he uses them willingly and often, bludgeoning his opponents and separating them from their consciousness. He’s a lethal knockout artist whose punches get the job done as well. Michał Dreczkowski (5-0) is a young up-and-comer who has been enjoying life as a pro. The 24-year-old is a promising kickboxer who causes big, physical damage to his opponents. All but one of his bouts have finished by way of stoppage. Two budding talents in the light heavyweight division.
Bartłomiej Kopera (13-8) makes another stab at trying to get his first KSW victory. The FEN veteran is a submission player with a plethora of attacks designed to get the tap. The 32-year-old can do it all, leg locks, arm locks and a mean choke game. His wrestling is very competitive and he’s won four of his last five. Szymon Karolczyk (6-3) achieved his first KSW win in January 2024 with an arm triangle win. The 25-year-old is also a dangerous BJJ player, with four submission wins on his record. The Pole has a lovely head and arm choke, as well as the regular MMA attacks. This could turn into an awkward kickboxing bout.
Damian Mieczkowski (3-1) is a soldier by day and an MMA fighter in his free time. The Kołobrzeg man usually employs kickboxing tactics so far in his fledgling career. The Pole carries good power in the opening rounds, and has the ability to snuff out opponents with a wrestling game. His only loss was due to an injury. Bartosz Kurek (3-0) won a decision in his KSW debut last October. The Pole is a tough striker in the stand-up and a capable submission player. He’ll be looking to make a statement here to show what he can do after a couple of decision wins.
Marek Samociuk (6-4) is a different kind of fighter since joining the Uniq Fight Club with the likes of Arek Wzorsek and Radek Paczuski. The 28-year-old was Wotore’s first tournament champion, a bare knuckle Vale Tudo promotion, in which he displayed his grappling acumen. The Pole is utilising his striking a lot lately, showing some good IQ with leg kicks and heavy punches. He’s scored two knockout wins in his last two bouts and he’s looking to avenge a previous submission loss here. Filip Stawowy (10-5) is a Babilon MMA veteran and is one of the heavier guys in the division, earning the nickname “Tank”. The 28-year-old is mostly known for his striking, picking up eight victories via knockout. His sole KSW victory was his first submission victory, which came in the first fight between the two.
KSW 104 is live from Gorzów Wielkopolski at 18:00 Dublin time this Saturday night and the PPV can be purchased at KSWTV.com. If you’re looking for a taste of what’s to come, the first two fights will air for free on Youtube, as well as the infamous KSW opening ceremony.
