Cian Cowley To Fight For MMA Galla Title

Irish welterweight Cian Cowley (6-5) has been lined up to fight for the MMA Galla welterweight title in Odense, Denmark on April 12th.

This will be Cowley’s first outing since December 2023, when he stopped Daniel Sanchez in the opening round of their clash at Combate Global: Ireland vs. Mexico in Miami, Florida. Cowley is set to face the Danish promotion’s reigning champion Simon Seiler (6-3), who won the 170 pound title in October when he submitted the previously-unbeaten Mikkel Hennings.

All six of Seiler’s professional victories have come by way of submission, while Cowley, who enjoyed a successful Muay Thai career before transitioning into mixed martial arts, has six knockout victories during his career to date.

After a difficult run of results early in his career, Cowley is now riding a four-fight winning streak going into this fight, whereas his opponent Seiler picked up three victories in 2024.
